Health & Wellness Event To Focus On Prostate Cancer Care

The Indian Wells Chamber of Commerce and Gilda’s Club Desert Cities will present a very special community event on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa. Entitled New Hope Tour: Innovations in Prostate Cancer Care, this one-day event is designed to create awareness of and education about prostate cancer, and promote general health and wellness.

Activities include a free public lecture and health expo from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with featured speakers Murthy Andavolu, M.D. from Desert Regional Medical Center’s Comprehensive Cancer Center and Lisa Mitchell from Gilda’s Club; a medical symposium for physicians; and a 6:30 p.m. dinner with guest speaker, renowned football coach Tom Flores. The $100 per person dinner is open to the public. 

Proceeds from the event will benefit Gilda’s Club Desert Cities, a nonprofit organization that provides a myriad of cancer support programs and services.
