Resident Satisfaction Survey

An unsurpassed quality of life. This vital concept is embedded in the city’s mission and it’s one that everyone at City Hall strives to achieve daily for Indian Wells residents and guests in every aspect of community life.

To ensure this, City Council commissioned Encinitas, California-based True North Research, Inc. to solicit feedback from you, our residents, so that we can continue to meet your needs and provide the exceptional lifestyle you’ve come to expect and treasure.

True North Research developed a questionnaire that would cover the topics of interest to measure key issues and profile perceptions of the city and to measure resident satisfaction. A statistically reliable sampling of 400 adult Indian Wells residents participated in the quantifiable survey, which was conducted primarily by an 18-minute telephone survey between April 14 and April 27, 2009. The overall margin of error of this survey is +/- 4.81%. According to the findings, nearly all residents surveyed (98%) shared positive opinions of the quality of life in Indian Wells. “Our review of the data found that Indian Wells residents are the most satisfied resident group that we have encountered in more than 100 similar studies our firm has conducted for California municipalities,” said Dr. Timothy McLarney, president of True North Research.

Moreover, 92% of residents are pleased with the city’s continuing efforts to reach out to them via various channels of communication. The level of satisfaction in this area is, again, the highest True North has ever encountered in hundreds of comparable studies for public agencies.

“First-rate service is a top priority for us and, obviously, we’re extremely pleased with the overall results, and that we are meeting the city’s mission to provide a great quality of life for our residents and guests. That said, we don’t intent to rest on our laurels. We’re going to continue to strengthen the quality of all the programs and services that go into making the City of Indian Wells an exceptional place to live and visit” says City Manager Greg Johnson.
